а) Причастие (Participle) относится к неличным формам глагола и обладает свойствами как глагола, так и прилагательного и наречия. Причастие I (Participle I) и причастие Il (Participle II) (образование см. U.4b и U.11Ь) могут употребляться в сложных глагольных формах группы Continuous (см.и.4а; U.8a; U.14a), Perfect (см U.11а; U.12b; U.14c), Perfect Continuous (см. U.20a1-4), всех форм страдательного залога (см. U.15a), а также самостоятельно.
1. Причастие в форме Participle I в функции определения может стоять перед определяемым существительным (без пояснительных слов) или поспе определяемого существительного (образуя зависимый причастный оборот). В том и другом случае перевод на русский язык производится с помощью причастия:
e.g. Will you answer the following question. Ответьте на следующий вопрос.
The people following us are my colleagues. Люди, следующие за нами, наши коллеги.
2. Причастие а форме Participle I в функции обстоятельства может иметь две формы - причастие I простое (Participle I Simple) и причастие I перфектное (Participle I Perfect); обе формы причастия I от переходных глаголоа могут употребляться также а страдательном залоге:
