Наконец, сложность поведения плутония возрастает еще и в связи с непрерывным накоплением радиационных повреждений в процессе самооблуче-ния, как это обсуждается Уолфером (с. 276) и Хеккером и Марцем (с. 240). С точки зрения практики нам известно, что плутоний не разрушается в течение нескольких десятилетий. Все это указывает на то, что происходит отжиг
большей части повреждений, образовавшихся при самооблучении. Однако из сравнения с другими металлами и сплавами, которые подвергались аналогичному облучению от внешних источников, мы знаем, что в плутонии возникают условия, которые способствуют существенным изменениям свойств в процессе старения. ¦
