7.1. Почему необходимо эргономическое проектирование видеотерминальных рабочих мест?
В настоящее время видеотерминалы (ВДТ) заполнили организации и некоторые службы в промышленности, где еще недавно машины не использовались. В результате возникла совершенно новая ситуация в условиях работы.
За традиционным конторским столом служащий занимается самыми разными делами и имеет достаточное пространство для разнообразных поз и движений: он может просматривать документы, делать записи, разговаривать по телефону, читать текст, обмениваться информацией с коллегами, время от времени печатать и выполнять многие другие задачи в течение рабочего дня. Стол, который слишком низок (высок) или имеет какие-то иные эргономические недостатки, отнюдь не обязательно вызывает раздражение или физический дискомфорт у работника.
Существенно иначе выглядит эта ситуация для оператора, работающего без перерыва за ВДТ в течение нескольких часов или весь день. Такой оператор является неотъемлемой частью системы человек — машина. Его движения ограничены, внимание направлено на экран, руки фиксированы на клавиатуре. Операторы в большей степени подвергаются воздействию эргономических недостатков оборудования и неадекватных условий освещения. Они более чувствительны к зрительному и физическому напряжениям, причем особое значение имеет неудачный выбор уровня стола, вызывающий скованность позы оператора. Эти обстоятельства взывают к эргономике, и именно поэтому она проложила себе путь в мир организаций.
