Одна из распространённых причин прерывания СИТ аллергенами — разочарование больных, ожидающих от лечения быстрого и выраженного эффекта, поэтому проведению СИТ аллергенами должна предшествовать разъяснительная беседа с пациентами. Другая причина неэффективности — лечение больных неаллергическим ринитом с положительными, но клинически незначимыми положительными результатами кожных проб или РАСТ. Иммунотерапия, назначаемая только по результатам кожного тестирования или РАСТ, не может привести к успеху. Адекватные методы определения оптимальной продолжительности СИТ аллергенами у конкретного больного отсутствуют. Решение относительно длительности СИТ аллергенами основано на клинической эффективности. При лечении больных неосложнённым АллР рекомендовано проводить иммунотерапию водно-солевыми экстрактами аллергенов на протяжении не менее 3 лет.
