В целом для антифосфолипидной васкулопатии характерен широкий спектр морфологических изменений пораженных участков сосудов. Эти изменения включают не только венозные или артериальные тромбозы, но и пролиферацию интимы, средней оболочки, а также адвентицию крупных артерий, приводящую к их окклюзии, в сочетании с пролиферацией капилляров и облитерирующим эндартериитом мелких сосудов. Существует по крайней мере две особенности морфологии поражения сосудов при АФС: фибриноидный тромбоз мелких сосудов и их пролиферация. Эти особенности свидетельствуют о том, что в основе патогенеза антифосфолипидной васкулопатии лежит нарушение коагуляции и/или повреждение эндотелия сосудов.
