§ 3. Иногда все-таки бывает важно, кто или что совершило действие. Когда это необходимо, активный деятель вводится в предложение предлогом by (кем) или with (чем) / with the help of (при помощи) /by means of (посредством).

§ 4. В газетных репортажах часто используют пассивные структуры:
It is (was) said that... говорят (говорили), что...

It is (was) supposed that... предполагают (предполагали), что.
It is (was) considered that... считают (считали), что...
It is (was) expected that... ожидают (ожидали), что...

Упражнение 6. Translate:
Говорят, что он хороший программист.

• § 5. Пассивные конструкции могут употребляться и с модальными глаголами. Мы упоминали об этом в уроке 19. После модального глагола употребляется в этом случае пассивный инфинитив.
This problem can be solved. — Эта проблема может быть решена.
You might be sent to America by your company in August. — Вас, должно быть,
пошлют в Америку от Вашей фирмы в августе.
This task should be fulfilled by the end of the week — Эта задача должна быть выполнена к концу недели.
Упражнение 7. Underline passive constructions, mark auxiliary verbs and ask questions to the sentences:
Подчеркните конструкции в страдательном залоге, выделите вспомогательный глагол и задайте вопрос к предложению:
Tip: Напоминаю, что правило многокомпонентных сказуемых распространяется и на пассивные глагольные конструкции — первый элемент сказуемого в страдательном залоге является вспомогательным глаголом.
