-able суффикс прилагательного, означает возможность того действия, представленного глаголом, к которому присоединен суффикс. Readable — «читабельный» — так сейчас часто и по-русски говорят.
-ed суффикс причастия прошедшего времени, слово начинает отвечать на вопрос «что сделанный» — это немного коряво, но зато верно по сути.
